Join the UK's leading trade-only supplier of paper-based materials, print, and conversion services to the packaging and POS sectors. We are seeking a Production Planner to take on the crucial responsibility of day-to-day scheduling for our manufacturing machinery. In-house training will be provided, offering extensive opportunities for development as you progress in your role.
Responsibilities:
- Import new jobs into the planning system and efficiently allocate them to appropriate machinery.
- Maintain schedules for each machine to ensure timely delivery of completed jobs.
- Maximize machine running hours and leverage efficiencies between jobs.
- Perform daily revisions to the manufacturing schedule, adapting to changing circumstances and new priorities.
- Develop and maintain a long-term plan with jobs allocated to likely production windows.
- Keep a detailed view of the status of components required for jobs to go live, including materials, prior conversion operations, and tooling.
- Generate capacity information, determining short-notice accommodation of new work.
- Determine lead times and identify capacity issues as new jobs are loaded.
Supplier Liaison: - Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the progress of material and other deliveries required for production.
Machinery Knowledge Development: Develop a detailed knowledge of machinery to refine running data, utilize interchangeability of jobs between machines, and identify and address problem jobs.
Transport Coordination:Liaise with the transport department to provide details for daily load planning.
Qualifications / Experience:
The ideal candidate will:
- Have some experience in planning/scheduling.
- Have some experience in direct communication with customers.
- Possess strong analytical and logical decision-making skills.
- Be capable of multitasking and prioritizing effectively.
- Have good IT skills.
Package:
- Salary: 25,000 to 30,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
