WHAT TO EXPECT
As the Plant Manufacturing Team Engineer you will act as a key member of the EDU engineering delivery team, interfacing between design and release engineering and Manufacturing Teams. It will be your responsibility to review incoming customer quality concerns, assigning them to the correct owners by making use of the JLR IQM 8D management system to improve the quality experience of our customers by managing and resolving key quality projects.
The Electrified Propulsion Manufacturing Centre is a Brand-New State of the Art production facility to produce the next generation of advanced Electric Drive Units and batteries alongside our existing engine production to power the future vehicles of our JLR Brand.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
KEY ACCOUNTABILITES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- To define quality investigation projects ensuring the problem statement is clear prior to handover to the resolving area owner.
- To review daily customer quality issues and route to appropriate owner for emergency response resolution.
- To lead the root cause investigation activities using tools such as Is / Is Not, 5 Why, Scope Analysis, statistical quality data analysis.
- To communicate the status and progression of quality projects with clear and concise message to the senior management team.
- To ensure all parts being used or about to be used by the manufacturing centre have the correct documentation to ensure compliance.
- To request parts back from the retailer network to support PVT, Engineering or project investigations.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Essential:
- Ability to apply problem solving skills such as 8D, 6 Sigma, data analysis, validation tests within an engine engineering environment.
- Good Excel skills including data manipulation, analysis charting and pivot tables.
- Ability to communicate and report quality and parts status up to management.
- A logical thinker and clear communicator who is able to explain complex issues in a concise and clear manner.
- Ability to act in an entrepreneurial environment and be resourceful and resilient to the changing demands of the business with agile mindset.
- A passion in problem solving in order to deliver the optimum solution to JLR customers in the quickest possible timeframe.
