Job description
We are seeking a Playgroup Assistant to support our team with the continued provision and maintenance of the current pre-school. This is a variable hours contract. As a Pre-school assistant you would be responsible for helping with the day to day running of the Pre-school to ensure stimulating play in a safe, caring and welcoming environment for children and their families in line with DHSSPS Minimum Standards for Childminding and Day Care for Children under 12, the Children (Northern Ireland) Order 1995, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Pre-school Curriculum Guidance For Preschool Education (CCEA) document, DE/EA/ETI and other relevant guidance, policies and procedures etc. This will involve support with planning, preparing and delivering play- based activities appropriate for children aged from 2 years and 10 months to 4 years. At least 2 years' paid work in an Early Years setting within the last 5 years.Knowledge and understanding of the NI pre-school Curricular Guidance For Pre-School Education (CCEA) document.Understanding of child protection and the DHSSPS Minimum Standards for Childminding and Day care for Children under age 12 document.Currently hold QCF level 3 in Children's Care, Learning and Development (or equivalent) , Experience of carrying out and using observations to support children's educational development.Valid and current Child Protection training.Valid and current Food Hygiene certificate.Valid and current First Aid certificate.Hold a Level 2 Qualification in Childrens Care.
