Your new role
The PMO Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting senior leaders in the implementation and delivery of transformational business change through oversight of the Strategic Projects PMO. The PMO Manager will apply their knowledge of PMO methodology to bring robust assurance, governance, and project delivery processes to the organizations' portfolio of strategic projects. You will be responsible for managing the Portfolio Management Office (PMO) and its continued development. Ensuring the team provides highly effective Programme and Project office services, including good practice guidance and standards, and effective assurance to support Programme and Project teams. Working with a diverse stakeholder base that covers project staff, senior leaders and professional functions teams, you will be able to coach, influence and engage colleagues who require orientation around project processes.
What you\'ll need to succeed
* Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to influence and persuade people at all levels of seniority.
* Able to exchange complex concepts in a manner appropriate to the audience and to develop and maintain collaborative working relations across organisational boundaries.
* Ability to manage a team of Project Support staff and Administrators to enable effective delivery of projects and programmes.
* Excellent applied knowledge of project and programme management frameworks, methodologies, and best practice.
* Strong working knowledge of how to be effective and impactful in a large and complex organisation.
* Working knowledge of Change Management and its role in delivering projects
* Professional project, programme or portfolio management qualification (e.g., P30, Prince2, Agile, APM, MoP, MSP).
* Proven track record of strong and effective matrix leadership of a successful PMO team including excellent matrix management.
* Experience of writing and presenting proposals to senior staff and committees.
* Be able to construct and use a variety of programme/project reporting tools, for communicating programme status at director and leadership level.
What you\'ll get in return
You can expect a competitive salary in the region of £50,000 to £55,000 (depending on experience), along with life insurance, 30+ days annual leave (plus bank holidays), an attractive pension scheme and hybrid/flexible working (3 days in the office and 2 days a week working from home).
