A Public Sector organisation based in Belfast City Centre are recruiting a Policy & Communications Officer for an initial period of 12 months.
Your new role
- Development of a communications plan, including profile-raising activities through consistent, quality content of social media channels and website management.
- Develop and deliver targeted communication materials, including a range of publication materials, such as newsletters, leaflets, flyers, etc, press releases, social media content and organise online and face to face meetings and events as required.
- Monitor and analyse media coverage and develop appropriate responses to negative coverage.
- Establish and maintain an appropriate social media presence, monitor social media and website activity daily. Responsible for updating the organisation’s website and social media.
- Lead on event management of corporate events.
- Work with the Research Officer to identify key findings and bring forward appropriate draft briefing.

- Collate, analyse and prepare draft correspondence, information, briefings, speeches and reports as required.
- Provide communication and policy support across the organisation.
What you'll need to succeed
- Relevant undergraduate degree
- A minimum of at least three years’ experience working in a policy and communications post
- At least two years’ experience of line management.
- Proven experience of developing and delivering targeted communication materials, including press releases, social media content, leaflets, newsletters and so on.
- Proven experience of communicating effectively, verbally and in writing, including through developing and disseminating communication materials for different stakeholder audiences, including reports, presentations and online content.
- Excellent IT skills, including in MS Office, information management tools and software, presenting data and information in a variety of formats.
- Proven experience of undertaking information/policy/research analysis and managing, collating and presenting information effectively and in accordance with relevant Data Protection Legislation
