Job description

Location: St Mary’s Campus, hybrid Job Summary We are looking for an enthusiastic Policy Fellow who will be an integral part of the team and will work on the development and delivery of research programmes. The role presents an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and healthcare policy. The past decade has seen a rise in the use of digital technologies across all aspects of healthcare management and delivery, from system-level decision-making to the provision of virtual support. At the Centre for Health Policy, we recognise that digital is not just one area of research, but an increasingly relevant tool in the management and delivery of healthcare that cuts across many areas of our work. You will support projects across CHP’s strategic priorities where there is a strong digital component. These include (but are not limited to) mental health, global patient safety, cybersecurity, new care delivery models, and data analytics (including machine learning and artificial intelligence). Duties and responsibilities You will be at the centre of our work, coordinating the research, policy, and engagement activities associated with key projects. You will lead the requisite background research, refine the project plan if required, support analysis interpretation and lead the write-up of activities in line with project deliverables. As an example, one of the projects you will be supporting will involve working with a mental health charity to produce reports aimed at influencing policy and practice. This will involve establishing and sustaining good working relationship with charity, working closely with our patient and public involvement and engagement team to set up and run workshops, and working with the analytics team to extract insights form the data and translate these into policy recommendations. Essential requirements The ideal candidate is one that is looking to further develop their demonstrable experience and knowledge in the field of health policy and digital technology. We are looking for a passionate Policy Fellow who has: A degree in health policy, public health, public policy or related Experience writing healthcare policy outputs Experience working in academia, industry, government/civil service or a consulting organisation Effective communication skills, demonstrated by successfully engaging with colleagues at different levels of seniority and with diverse backgrounds A strong understanding of digital technologies and their impact on healthcare Good knowledge of the health policy sector Further Information You will need to complete an online application for this role.
