The Best Connection are currently seeking a polisher and saw operative for our client in Kirby in Ashfield starting as soon as possible working with Quartz and Granite!!
A high-quality manufacturer of Quartz, Granite and Marble work surfacing products to the public, commercial and building sectors.
Quartz and Granite CNC Bridge Saw Operative/Polisher/Fabricator/Labourer.
Hours:
- 7am - 4pm Monday to Thursday
- 7am - 2pm Fridays
- Overtime is essential!
Pay Rate:
- £11.50 to £13.50 per hour – this is negotiable and dependant on experience and skill set.
Role and Responsibility:
- Understand the production schedule and able to work to targeted expectations
- Able to read and understand production drawings to complete work to the correct standards and quality expectations of the business
- Loading worksurfaces onto work benches using lifting equipment (gantry crane/vacuum handler)
- Knowledge and ability to use various air and electrically supplied hand tooling (polishers/grinders/drills etc) preferred
- Able to polish and fabricate Quartz and Granite surfaces to a high standard ensuring all quality checks are made before loading onto racks for the installer collection
- Understanding of any additional items required to add to relevant orders (sinks/wastes/care kits, etc)
- Completing Factory job sheets correctly and handing into your manager once the job is completed
- Flexible and able to work in other areas of the business as and when required
- Assistance in unloading/loading materials and stock control/checks as required by your manager
- Regularly maintain and look after any tooling used and keep your working area in a clean and tidy condition at all times
- Comply with all Health and Safety procedures relevant to your working area
- Knowledge and ability to use Granite and Quartz Bridge saws or machine-based saw operations preferred
- Following the supplied cutting plan, cut orders efficiently and accurately from the required slab material
- Ensure stock movement sheets are completed logging slab numbers used and any offcuts that have been kept.
Key Skills:
- Able to work in a heavy/wet (water based) industry
- Able to read and understand production paperwork (Numerate/Literate)
- Machining skills preferred but not essential since training supplied
- Punctual and good attendance record
- Good time management
- Team player
