Job description

Homes for Students, a leading name in purpose-built student accommodation, is on the lookout for a dedicated and talented Portfolio Development Manager. We are looking for candidates in close proximity to our Liverpool Office (L10 1LD) or Harrogate Office (HG2 8QT), however the successful candidate could be based anywhere within the UK, provided they are available to travel to our offices and sites as required. The role is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am - 5.30pm.
The integration team ensures clients properties transition in and out of our management in the most efficient, timely and transparent way. As experts across the PBSA project journey, we know how to make our client s investments and assets outperform through our intelligent, creative advice from the earliest phases of a project and into operational management. Reporting into the Head of Business Integration, you will be responsible for the mobilisation of an allocation of our new build assets, delivering a high-quality mobilisation and client consultancy service, for the benefit of Homes for Students, our clients, colleagues, and residents. Working on a large PBSA portfolio pipeline, the successful candidate will be leading on the mobilisation and launch of our new build assets. In addition to being the lead on several new build mobilising properties you will also lead on the onboarding of operational properties from other owners and operators and support the off boarding of any properties leaving Homes for Students Management.
The position calls for someone who has excellent communication skills and an understanding of the industry, excellent administrative skills, and the ability to work with colleagues and managers across all departments. Suitable candidates for the role should be confident and persuasive individuals with great communication skills.
Main duties
Supporting the integration of new and existing developments into our existing portfolio, liaising with various parties required to obtain handover/set up information, ensuring all data received is organised and accurately inputted into our data room. Work closely with the client and their design teams to provide operational influence throughout the build programme, producing accurate client reports demonstrating performance and asset management initiatives as required. Responsible for the mobilisation of various service provision contracts required. Attend regularly on-site and virtual client meetings throughout the onboarding and mobilisation period. Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all mobilisation actions are completed within the agreed timeframes, ensuring that they are effectively and efficiently dealt with. Assist in writing a variety of management strategies for new buildings. Attend regular meetings with internal and external stakeholders during mobilisation stage and during transition stage, providing regular progress updates in line with our framework. Supporting the compilation of asset registers, reviewing O&Ms, ensuring all relevant certification and warranty information is saved on internal systems and shared with the Operations and Procurement teams. Assisting in the operational handover once the mobilisation period comes to an end, including on-site support during this phase. Support in the onboarding of operational management systems. Proactively seek for improvements in processes, methods, and tools. Ensure that processes, procedures, and policies are in place and followed correctly. Maintain detailed and thorough reporting in line with the business expectations. Attend planning committee meetings and provide pre-planning support to clients. May be occasional requirement to work outside of normal working hours during peak periods, such as scheme completions and check-in weekends. The above outlines the main duties and responsibilities of the position, however these shouldn t be the only ones and there could be additional elements which are included in future commensurate with your skills and training and consistent with the level and responsibilities of the role. You will be expected to work in a multitasking manner and to support other members of the team across a range of other duties as directed by your line manager.
Skills
