Job Title: Portfolio Manager
Company: Accountants based in Chard - Remote
Salary: 45,000 - 60,000 per annum
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Portfolio Manager to join our team of accountants in Chard. As a Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of clients, supporting the Directors in providing accounting and tax services, and ensuring that client expectations are met in a timely and efficient manner. The ideal candidate will have experience in accountancy practice, preferably with medical client experience, and be capable of independently managing a portfolio of accounts.
Responsibilities:
Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring their accounting and tax needs are met
Support the Directors in delivering a range of accounting and tax services
Interact with clients on a day-to-day basis, acting as the main contact person
Mentor and train junior staff members
Maintain a keen eye for detail and ensure accuracy in all deliverables
Demonstrate a positive and can-do attitude, with a willingness to learn
Work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines effectively
Be outgoing, confident, and able to handle work pressure efficiently
Take initiative, demonstrate organizational skills, and be proactive in problem-solving
Work well as part of a team, while maintaining a professional approach
Possess good knowledge of Excel and Word, with the ability to learn new IT skills
Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills
Requirements:
Essential Experience:
Qualified ACCA or ACA preferred, but proven practice experience is acceptable
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
Must be eligible to work in the UK

Desirable Experience:
Previous experience in managing a portfolio of clients
Knowledge or experience in medical accounting
Recent practical experience in producing accounts and dealing with clients directly
Experience in training junior staff or managing a team
