Salary We are looking to appoint a Postdoctoral Researcher to the laboratory of Dr Miriam Klein-Flugge, sponsored by a UKRI-converted ERC Starting Grant and the Brain Research Centre (BRC), to study limbic-prefrontal brain circuits in motivation and decision-making. The post is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital and the Tinsley Building, Mansfield Road Oxford.
The post is for a fixed term (funded for one year from 1 August 2024).
You will collaborate with other researchers in designing behavioural tasks and neuroimaging experiments for investigating the neural mechanisms underlying emotion, motivation and decision making. You will use fMRI and ultrasound neurostimulation techniques and will need to show some independence in conducting your work. You will be part of a thriving community of researchers working in related subject areas.
You will have or be close to the completion of a PhD in Neuroscience, Psychology or a closely related discipline. With in-depth knowledge of cognitive and computational neuroscience including motivation, learning and decision making, you will have strong quantitative and programming skills along with a track record of designing neuromodulation studies in healthy participants and participants with mood disorders, of using computer programs to design experimental paradigms, including paradigms requiring effort exertion, analyse data and conduct advanced statistical analysis. Familiarity with neuromodulation techniques is essential.
