Job description
This is a post-doctoral role supporting the wide variety of projects undertaken in the Centre for Genomic Research (CGR). The CGR is a large genome facility with state-of-the-art robotics and sequencing platforms. This also incorporates UK national capability in the NERC Environmental Omics Facility (NEOF). The successful applicant will form part of a multi-disciplinary team, comprising academics, postdoctoral fellows and technical staff that is focused on delivering high-quality data and analyses to collaborating scientists. They will be responsible for analysing a wide range of data from sequencing projects for collaborating groups. You must be diligent have the capability to plan your own workload and keep accurate scientific records along with the ability to work as part of a team and also independently once appropriate guidance has been provided. A PhD in biological science, computer science or statistics and/or relevant experience is required. This post is available immediately for 12 months in the first instance, with a possibility to extend. Any applicants who are still awaiting their PhD to be awarded should be aware that if successful, they will be appointed at grade 6, spine point 30. Upon written confirmation that they have been successful in being awarded their PhD, they will be moved onto Grade 7, spine point 31 from the date of their award.
