Power Bi Developer

SThree are delighted to announce that we're looking for a talented Power BI Developer to join our team!
The chosen candidate will support SThree's overall purpose to 'bring skilled people together to build the future'. Reporting to the Head of Data Governance & Technology, the Power BI Developer is responsible for developing Power BI reports based on the azure data platform. The role is accountable for accurate and consumable production of reports into the business including design look and feel.

The purpose is to ensure that the reports for the business are impactful and easily consumed. Data is at the heart of our business and ability to effectively access and use it is essential for fulfilling our strategic ambition.

What are the day-to-day tasks?

• Designing and developing BI reports and dashboards: This involves understanding the business requirements, designing the data model, and developing visualizations that provide actionable insights.
• Data management: Power BI developers are responsible for managing data sets, ensuring they are clean, accurate, and ready for analysis. This often involves data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
• Collaborating with stakeholders: Power BI developers work closely with various stakeholders, including business analysts, project managers, and data scientists, to understand their data needs and deliver solutions that meet them.
• Ensuring data accuracy: Power BI developers must ensure the accuracy and reliability of the data presented in the dashboards and reports. This involves validating the data and implementing quality checks.
• Training end-users: Power BI developers often train end-users on how to use the dashboards and reports effectively. This includes explaining how to interpret the data and make data-driven decisions.
• Troubleshooting and maintenance: Power BI developers troubleshoot data-related issues and maintain the Power BI infrastructure to ensure it's up-to-date and running smoothly.
• Staying updated: The data analysis and visualisation field is constantly evolving. Power BI developers need to stay updated with the latest features, updates, and best practices to leverage them effectively.
• Data security: Ensuring data security is another important responsibility. This involves implementing appropriate access controls and data protection measures.

What skills are we looking for?
Knowledge & Experience:

• Excellent analytical skills and a proven ability to think creatively to solve problems.
• Significant experience in the development of Reports within Azure, utilising functionality such as Azure Data Factory / Lake, Power BI, Logic and Function Apps and Azure SQL
• Knowledge of data transformations, pipelines, structured / unstructured data and data ingestion ETL processes.
• Strong experience of working in an Agile delivery team and producing and deploying applications in a production environment.

Qualifications:

• Associated Microsoft (or other) certificates and qualifications
• Data Analytics using AI/ML
• MSSQL and MYSql stored procedures and data scripting
• Visual analytics tools, e.g. Power BI / Tableau / etc.
