SalaryOur Technical Support Engineers are responsible for providing advanced and ad-hoc technical advice, guidance and support to our engineers in order to complete jobs and to keep our engineers and members of the public safe, whilst retaining a focus on minimising abort rates of jobs. In addition, this role is responsible for the desktop validation of 100% of work carried out from all jobs. There are 2 shift patterns between the hours of 8am - 5pm. Ensuring any issues are rectified ahead of external audits Report and escalate issues as appropriate in line with internal requirements and procedures Responsible for understanding and complying with internal SOPs and regulatory requirements to provide appropriate decisions Assess potentially dangerous situations ahead of visits by engineers, rectifying issues, and reporting as required Reviewing of gas drawings submitted for approval, ensuring compliance, a supplied test point and accurate costing of jobs Answering support calls from engineers and providing guidance and instruction in a confident and accurate manner, using technical knowledge and existing company procedures Knowledge, Skills and ExperienceFully qualified engineer with up to date knowledge and experience - WC & CT qualified Ability to remain calm and in control of a demanding and varied workload in an often pressurised environment Ability to prioritise own workload, and exercise appropriate judgement when escalating issues or questions Attention to detail, and a pride in providing accurate and timely support Strong problem solving and issue resolution ability Good communication skills First class customer service skills with the ability to manage expectations with diplomacy Able to demonstrate an ongoing commitment to personal development and increasing knowledge of the company and technical areas Ability to identify areas for improvement and raise as appropriateAbout us Established in 2005, we’re a leading, nationwide, utilities infrastructure business, providing:innovative metering and data servicesfuture-proofed network construction and ownership solutionslow carbon service offerings.
