WHAT TO EXPECT

We have an opportunity for a talented Powertrain Technical Project Leader to manage and deliver new Powertrain technology applications into JLRs new and existing vehicles platform. Acting as a Scrum Master, the Technical Project Leader is the prime interface to the vehicle line programme team ensuring the Powertrain Technical content is aligned and compatible with the vehicle project requirements for technical maturity, delivery, quality, cost and time. 

Main Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Manage the team in planning, co-ordination, delivery and reporting of project requirements using Product Development System principles and JLR processes
• Ensure all project deliverables and requirements are monitored, delivered and reported accurately. Organise and lead appropriate interim review events with the powertrain team
• Manage conflict and issue resolution internal to Powertrain and cross functional
• Monitor Powertrain performance and lead / facilitate the escalation process and problem resolution on all project aspects of content delivery, including technical compatibility, virtual build, physical build and launch support
• Track and support engineering parts releases to enable prototype and production builds to be delivered on time
• Represent Powertrain in external communication and status reporting
• Lead and manage input to weekly Programme Steering Team and Vehicle Integration Team meetings and drive the team in the use of tools and processes to manage the completion of deliverables for programme unit gateways
• Work closely with other Product Strategy, Advanced Product Creation and Marketing to ensure the project delivers the expected prescribed product actions in a robust manner

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• Good knowledge of powertrain systems and experience of the automotive industry
• Relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience preferred
• Knowledge of product development processes and PCDS principles
• Good understanding of project management principles, meeting demanding timescales, budget control and target management
