Management Accountant (Maternity Cover)

• Contract Type: 8-Month Fixed Term Contract (to end of Jan 2025)
• Location: Bishopbriggs
• Salary: £27-32k

We are seeking a Management Accountant to join our client based in the Bishopbriggs area on an 8-month maternity leave contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining monthly management accounts for various European territories, ensuring accuracy and providing essential support to the Head of Accounting and Territorial FDs.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Prepare month-end Profit and Loss Accounts for publishing divisions, ensuring revenues and costs are accurately stated.
• Produce full profit and loss accounts, prepare and post journals, run reports, and prepare review packs.
• Ensure the General Ledger reconciles to the monthly management accounts.
• Perform month-end and quarter-end balance sheet reconciliations, providing detailed explanations for any variances.
• Utilise system accountancy knowledge to investigate variances and mitigate the risk of errors on the balance sheet and P&L.
• Assist in preparing information for the year-end statutory audit to contribute to an efficient audit process and accurate statutory reporting.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Part-qualified CIMA/ACCA or equivalent accountancy experience.
• Exceptional Excel skills and effective planning/scheduling abilities.
• Experience in the preparation of Management Accounts and Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
• Co-operative disposition and the ability to establish relationships with colleagues across financial and non-financial departments.
• Ability to converse effectively with senior finance staff.
• Knowledge of Hyperion and JDE accounting software is an advantage.
