Our Role
A unique opportunity to gain experience working across both the Public Relations. You will gain hands-on experience of all aspects of working within this busy and fast-paced department, from attending photo shoots and liaising with bloggers, to managing samples and picture requests for press and monitoring coverage.
This is a 6 -month FTC and will start as part time Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday in our London Head Offices.
What you'll be doing
Public Relations
- Day to day coordination for the Public Relations team
- To liaise on day to day basis with Public Relations Team & act as their internal coordinator for The White Company
- To manage the processing of all press sample loans & returns within agreed timeframes – this includes posting out and booking couriers if necessary and making sure all fragile items are adequately wrapped.
- To manage the daily image requests from press and make sure all images are fully captions and understand they may need to be caption in local currency eg Dollars/Euros.
- To instigate press stories when relevant
- To assist in the production and implementation of an annual calendar for all PR activity
- To assist in the production of weekly press releases & seasonal ad hoc look book production as necessary
- To assist in the co-ordination of all events across Public Relations
- To help collate a comprehensive database for press contacts and maintain / update on regular basis
- To maintain press samples and ensure the press room and all cupboards are neat and tidy at all times; and ensure new and old samples are processed according to The White Company policies
- To build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with buying and merchandising teams in order to gain excellent product knowledge and source appropriate samples
- To place all coverage received in the Best of Press report on a daily basis in order HoP and Deputy can review as necessary. This includes both PowerPoint slides and an Excel sheet. US coverage supplied by agency must be added in weekly also.
- To ensure all press coverage is measured and communicated to relevant stakeholders
- Research all online coverage and show to HoP
- Use Workplace to alert wider TWC colleagues to press wins.
- Place and track orders for press including adding all costs to excel spreadsheets.
- Track all spend on international couriers and add to spreadsheet.
The skills & experience that you’ll need
- Education to degree level (Marketing ideal but not essential) or equivalent
- Fluent English (Written/Spoken)
- Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
- Numeracy
- Previous experience in in a fast-paced retail environment head office or store
- Computer literacy Excel, Word, PowerPoint, outlook essential
