The role sits within Bexley Children Social Care’s Professional Standards & Quality Assurance department. The service provides extensive Learning and development offer to the workforce which includes wellbeing, training, career development and staff engagement events. The service also leads in driving forward the quality assurance framework through the variety of roles in our department. Our service consists of highly experienced consultant social workers, chairs, independent reviewing officers and the LADO. Your role will be to lead specifically on Quality Assurance and to oversee the LADO function.
About the Role
Are you an experienced Team Manager or manager with transferable skills with a strong safeguarding lens? Are you looking to develop your career to the next stage? There is an exciting opportunity to be a Service Manager within Professional Standards & Quality Assurance.
Working closely with the Principal Social Worker and Service Manager for IRO & CP Chairs you will lead on driving forward good standards of practice through our quality assurance framework. You will lead on monthly auditing, thematic audit panels and report directly to senior leadership on your findings. This is a real opportunity to strengthen practice and help us identify areas for development. Importantly you will be supporting feedback from families and children and ensuring this informs practice and service provision.
You would be facilitating and embedding learning across services, and you will also oversee the LADO functionality and supervise the LADO. You will work closely with the Head of Service for Professional Standards & SHIELD and this will provide opportunity for multi-agency working and working strategically.

Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will need to have had prior management experience within Social Work and experience of audit activity.
