Would you like to join a well functioning practice with a strong team with multiple specialist backgrounds? well here at Dorchester 24hr will give you the opportunity to work with Certificate holder’s in imaging and cardiology and other Vets studying for certificates in surgery, dentistry and ECC. As well as being lucky enough to have an amazing nursing team that keeps everything going to plan!
Not only that, we are the first practice in the area to be installing a CT scanner and are really excited about the development of this in the coming year. The practice demonstrates excellent equipment options on-site including laparoscopy, endoscopy (rigid and flexible), dental x-ray, ultrasound, full lab including iStat, plus hydrotherapy and physiotherapy
We have an exciting new role to welcome a Practice Manager to the team at our 24 hour hospital in Dorchester, Dorset. The role is on a full time basis of 40 hours a week, based at the hospital branch at Dorchester 24h

We are a long-established practice in the heart of the beautiful county town of Dorchester, within a stone’s throw of the famous Jurassic coast. We pride ourselves on providing excellent care to our patients.
We are a 24-hour centre so have a Vet and Nurse on site, awake, looking after our patients 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and are the only practice in the area to offer this. We also run our own emergency services clinic with a dedicated night team for local practices’ out-of-hour cover.

Role Accountabilities
- Support of the day to day running of the hospital
- Lead and develop the team alongside the Lead Vet and Head Nurse
- Ensure high standards of clinical and customer care are achieved
- Deal with client complaints or concerns
- Chair staff meetings and support the Lead Vet and Head Nurse within them
- Line management and development for Client Care Assistants
- Regular communication with the Regional Management Team
- Work with the Regional Management Team to grow the hospital and meet financial targets
- Health and Safety Compliance
- Practice Standard Scheme support to the Head Nurse
- Work with the regional debt management team to minimise the practice debtors
Your Skills And Experience
- Experience in the Veterinary industry is an advantage, ideally with Medivet experience.
- Experience in a management position managing a team, finance, client service and project development.
- Organised individual.
- Adaptability and drive.
- Strong IT skills.
- Ability to manage own diary and to be able to prioritise.
