Premises Manager

Premises Manager at Hill View School, Martock, Somerset.We are delighted to announce an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Premises Manager to join our new team. Hill View School is a brand new school and will be opening in Sep 2024 for the first 60 pupils. This crucial position will oversee the physical environment of the school, ensuring they are safe, secure and well maintained. As the guardian of our premises, the role is central to creating an Optimal learning environment for staff.Main responsibilities include:Managing and maintaining the school's premises to the highest standards:To work with various maintenance contractors to ensure compliance, PPM, reactive tasks, and the like are completed in a timely manner.To work with Grounds contractors to ensure external areas are clean and tidy.To work with Cleaning contractors to ensure site is clean and tidy to set standards.To work with other contractors for other tasks, such as waste collections and portable appliance testing.To competently undertake basic repairs, and smaller but multi-disciplinary tasks reactively.To work proactively where possible.Maintain the O&M information and H&S file.Carry out routine and ad-hoc checks around the building and grounds to demonstrate it is safe and compliant. The frequency will be from daily to 5 yearly, and include (but not limited to) heating, plumbing, lighting, electrical to ensure correct and proper operation and address any safety issues.Liaise with and assist Trust Facilities Manager, Head of School and Senior Office Administrators in a professional manner.Work with Trust Finance Team on ordering, invoicing, and the likeWork with Trust Extended services in relation to lettings and the like.Liaise with wider School staff regarding ongoing matters.Liaise with contractors and accommodate works.Have an understanding of relevant legislation.Work with Trust Facilities Manager regarding the performance of various contracted services.Liaise with workshop on vehicle checks and inspections, organise basic cleans, repairs, and the like to ensure a compliant fleet.Act as responsible key holder and respond out-of-hours if an alarm is activated.Maintain security of the school and grounds.OPTIONAL – carry out daily and weekly checks, tests and basic remedial actions with regards to the Hydrotherapy Pool – Training will be providedThe ideal candidate will:Have proven experience in premises management, facility maintenance, or a related field.Possess strong leadership skills and experience managing a team.Display a thorough understanding of health and safety regulations.Show excellent organisational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.Be highly motivated, with the ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing needs.Have a commitment to promoting sustainability and eco-friendly practices.Details:Hours: Full time - 37 hours
