Shift Times: Monday to Saturday 6am – 3pm (one day will be given off within the week, this day will change from week to week)

Salary: starting from £11.44
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Delivery / Customer Service Operative to assist our delivery drivers in ensuring the timely and efficient transportation of goods. The Operative will play a crucial role in supporting the driver with navigation, loading and unloading of items, and maintaining excellent Customer Service throughout the delivery process. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude.
Key Responsibilities:
Loading and Unloading:
- Assist in loading and unloading goods from the delivery vehicle.
- Ensure items are handled safely and securely to prevent damage
Customer Service:
- Provide friendly and professional service to customers during deliveries
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding delivery times and any special instructions.
Navigation and Support:
- Assist the driver with navigation and route planning using GPS or maps.
- Help in identifying and avoiding potential delivery obstacles.
Vehicle Maintenance:
- Assist in keeping the delivery vehicle clean and well-maintained.
- Report any issues or maintenance needs to the driver or supervisor.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with the driver and other team members to ensure efficient delivery operations.
- Participate in daily briefings and debriefings as required.
Requirements:
Physical Fitness:
- Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to [specify weight]).
- Stamina to work long hours and perform physical tasks.
Communication Skills:
- Good verbal communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
- Basic written communication skills for completing delivery documentation.
Dependability:
- Punctual and reliable with a strong work ethic.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Additional Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role is an advantage but not required.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Valid driver’s license (if applicable).
- Ability to set up / put together furniture
