Lead Pricing Data Science Actuary – Energy & Construction
(London / Homeworking)
The Opportunity:
This is a great opportunity for you to become a Lead Pricing Data Science Actuary managing the Energy & Construction team covering the International Markets. Utilising high quality Data Science lab environments including QBE’s Cloud Platform, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experts in pricing, Data Science, insurance underwriting, claims, and information technology, to develop and deploy industry leading pricing and machine learning models into a $5 Billion book of business.

Your new role:
  • Build strong relationships with Energy & Construction underwriters, the product underwriting head and multiple stakeholders around the business
  • Be responsible for the on-going development of Energy & Construction pricing models used by the various underwriting teams
  • Lead the case pricing of larger risks
  • Fuse new Data Science techniques with traditional pricing methods to help form a market leading team of Pricing Data Science professionals
  • Drive a code quality and readability mindset across the team
About you:
  • Expertise in both property risk and catastrophe modelling
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Willingness and desire to learn new skills
  • Commercial insurance experience, in particular London Markets
  • Experience in pricing Energy & Construction business
  • Demonstrable interest in modern Data Science models and techniques
  • Python experience, or experience with other programming languages
