If so, you might be the perfect candidate for a Learning Support Assistant role at a special school in West Sussex The school is a special school catering for boys from age six to twelve with Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties and Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC), including those with Asperger's Syndrome and those with a diagnosis of ADHD. The school is located in a beautiful rural setting in Staplefield, West Sussex. The school aims to meet the holistic needs of the pupils and to maximise their personal, social and educational development. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and other staff to provide individualised support and guidance to the pupils. You will help them to access the curriculum, to develop their social skills, and to manage their behaviour and emotions. You will also assist with the planning and delivery of engaging and creative lessons, as well as with the assessment and monitoring of the pupils' progress. To be successful in this role, you will need to have: A NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent in supporting teaching and learning, or relevant experience in a similar role A good understanding of the needs and challenges of children with SEMH and ASC, and the ability to adapt your approach accordingly A positive and proactive attitude, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people A driving licence may be required due to the location of the school Location: Staplefield Availability: Monday-Friday Working Hours: 08:30-16:00 Salary: £80-£85 Day Rate If you are interested in this exciting opportunity, please send over your CV and we can arrange a call to go over the details further and find out more about you.
