Primary Sen Teaching Assistant

Teaching personnel works with a dedicated primary SEN school in the South of Bristol who make everyday special in the classroom. The successful teaching assistant does not need to have previous experience in the classroom, but has the passion to want to work with children with autism supporting their needs.

This is the perfect opportunity for those thinking about teaching and want to see what it may be like, or for those who have assisted in a primary classroom before and want to connect with children 1:1 as the classroom sizes are no bigger than 6 children, compared to mainstream sizes where you may feel that connection and ability to make a difference to a child’s learning is lost.

The role is to begin in June and to be rolled into September. We are looking for a full time TA, but can work with what fits your schedule.

About the role:

- No prior teaching qualifications/ experience needed

- Monday- Friday (08:00-3:00) term time only. Work fits into your life creating a healthy work/life balance

- £83/ day paid weekly and accessible routes

What you need:

- To be confident and proactive working with challenging behaviour

- Confidence in learning new skills and understanding specific needs of the children

- To look forward to making every day exciting in the classroom and making a safe space for the students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
