SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant and inclusive school. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities, ensuring they thrive in all aspects of their school life.
Day to day of the role:
Provide tailored one-on-one or small group support to students with special educational needs, adapting teaching materials and strategies to meet their individual requirements.
Collaborate with teachers to maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment, managing behaviour and encouraging student engagement.
Work closely with the SEN Coordinator to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs), monitor student progress, and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
Encourage students to develop essential life skills, independence, and confidence.
Communicate effectively with parents, therapists, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for students.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
A recognized Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification or equivalent.
Prior experience working with children with disabilities or learning difficulties.
Knowledge of basic first aid procedures.
Empathy towards the unique challenges faced by students with SEN.
Patience and resilience, with the ability to remain calm and adaptable in challenging situations.
Effective communication skills for collaboration with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
