Job Description

Service Care Finance are currently recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority in London for a Principal Accountant (Collection Fund) to join the team on a temporary basis. The Principal Accountant post will be within the Financial Planning Team and will oversee the accounting and financial support provided for the Collection Fund (Council Tax and Business Rates) as well as the Housing Benefit subsidy. The postholder will lead on the financial forecasting and budget preparation for the team with up to 5 direct reports into the role.

Candidate Criteria

• CCAB/CIMA Qualified Accountant
• Significant experience of working in a finance environment within a Local Authority/Government setting
• Experience of Collection Fund and Housing Benefit subsidy
• Experience of leading on budget preparation and financial forecasting
• Great communication and management skills with the ability to work well on own initiative
