An excellent opportunity is available for a Principal Bridge Engineer to join our Structures team in Kier Design Solutions. This role, based in Birmingham, involves providing engineering services, including scheme investigation, site and structure inspections, data collection and analysis, feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed design, preparation of tender documents, and works/construction inspection and supervision for Highways Structures Maintenance and Major Projects Design across the country.

Location: Birmingham - remote working available, with travel to the office
Contract: Fixed Term Contract (12 months)
Salary: £48k - £52k + private healthcare + benefits
Responsibilities
The Principal Engineer will manage and be responsible for the delivery of technical outputs of projects or a project portfolio to the meet the client's brief within time and budget. To line manage more junior members of staff.
Your day to day will include:
- Carrying out the checking and certifying of design deliverables (including drawings specifications, professional skill and care certificates, reports and contract documents)
- Authorising where appropriate
- Managing a team.
Who are we looking for?
This role of Principal Bridge Engineer is great for you to have:
- Chartered / incorporated member of a relevant professional institution (MICE/MIStructE or equivalent)
- In-depth experience in inspection, assessment, design and construction of highway structures to UK standards
- Valid driving licence
