About the Role:

The Energy Division at ARM is currently seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to join a Leading Nuclear Defence Client.

Key responsibilities include:

• To manage the delivery of ancillary structures engineering work packages to the required scope, quality, schedule and cost.

• Responsible for managing the technical deliverables of the structural or mechanical engineering packages in line with the planned deliverables agreed by the Discipline Lead.

• The post operates as part of the Major Infrastructure Projects Business Unit.

What you need to succeed:

• A masters degree in civil or structural engineering.

• Chartered Engineer, registered with Engineering Council or working towards chartership.
• Nuclear Introductory Course or equivalent nuclear and/or marine system knowledge
• NUC0793 Nuclear Plant Foundation Course Module 1.
• NUC0794 Nuclear Fundamentals (Foundation) Course Module 2
• NUC0911 Introduction to Safety Engineering (ITSE).
• Design and substantiation of Civil Engineering and building structures to relevant seismic codes for satisfying Nuclear Safety Functions.
• Knowledge of architectural design of industrial buildings
• Sound understanding of engineering design and safety practice as relevant to post and project requirements
• Experience in all relevant design codes and in addition those relating to Nuclear Safety such as ASCE 4 & ASCE 43.
• Experience of the design support to construction, operation, refit/repair of conventional and nuclear submarines and/or facilities.
