Job description

Job Description

Do you want to join Ramboll and be at the forefront of Aviation excellence? Would you like to be involved in shaping a sustainable future and contributing to forward-thinking projects and innovative solutions that aspire to establish new standards within our peer group?

If this sounds like you, or you’re curious to learn more, then this role could be the perfect opportunity. Join our Aviation department as our new Principal Consultant and work with us to close the gap to a sustainable future.

Your new team and role

You will have a key role in growing our aviation advisory offering, working for a company with Scandinavian roots and global reach. You’ll be working on a range of projects across the UK and internationally, with an in-depth focus on business planning and strategic studies but with an eye to see opportunities for our wider business. At Ramboll, the only limitation is your drive and enthusiasm.

Your role will flex in accordance with the project you are working on. As result we are looking for a team player and self-starter; someone who stands out in terms of professional integrity, technical insight and social empathy, and who enjoys their work, wants to be empowered and enjoys training, developing and learning from others. In return you will be part of a small close-knit team, which provides mutual support and professional development, whilst encouraging ownership and responsibility.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Project delivery across a number of workstreams and building client relationships both in the UK and internationally
  • Taking a central role in crafting compelling proposals for aviation consulting projects
  • Recognizing important shifts in the aviation sector and adapting to evolving customer requirements and priorities
  • Working with colleagues across our business to open up wider opportunities

About you

From the moment you start at Ramboll, we will support your personal and professional development so that you can continue to grow with the company. Whilst we look forward to supporting your continued learning and development, for this role we have identified some qualifications, skills, and capabilities that will set you up for success.

These include:

  • Broad experience of the aviation sector, to include areas such as business planning, forecasting, aeronautical and commercial revenues, operating costs, regulation, strategy development, management organisation and capacity appraisal
  • Previous experience with working on aviation business, commercial or transactions projects,
  • Proven experience of workstream delivery in at least one of the following disciplines: traffic, revenue, opex forecasting
  • A comprehensive understanding of market, commercial and financial elements and trends of the airports business and the ability to communicate these effectively to stakeholders both written and verbally
  • Project management experience
  • Experience of producing high quality technical reports and bids
  • Effective analytical skills with an ability to produce complex spreadsheet models and articulate outputs

Skilled in guiding, coaching, and growing team members while collaboratively achieving goals.

What we can offer you

  • Investment in your development
  • Leaders you can count on, guided by our Leadership Principles
  • Be valued for the unique person you are
  • Never be short of inspiration from colleagues, clients, and projects
  • The long-term thinking of a foundation-owned company
  • Flexible work environment
  • Hybrid working
  • 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Matched pension contributions
  • Private medical cover and life assurance
