Principal Electrical Design Engineer

Blueprint Recruitment are working alongside an international Engineering, Architecture and Consultancy Company who are seeking a Principal Electrical Design Engineer to join a highly skilled team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of various electrical systems within a range of projects. This is a lead position working in an easily-accessible Southampton office on a hybrid basis with an established and growing team on Residential and Commercial projects.

Role Responsibilities:

• Representing the company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams and contractors' teams
• Developing the applications of controls, instruments, and operating systems for all building engineering services purposes
• Leading projects and undertaking a client facing role in all stages of Engineering projects
• Develop and support trainees, Graduates and Engineers
• Producing survey tests and reports on existing Mechanical installations
• Responsible for making day to day decisions on project progress
• Developing and maintaining positive client relations
• Conducting regular checks of designs and specifications
• Carrying out engineering calculations to ensure drawings meet required robust industry and legal standards

Role Requirements:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant field
• Experience leading projects
• Good knowledge of key Health and Safety issues and legislation
• Previous experience as an Electrical Design Engineer
• Confident in specification design/drawing for several building types
• Knowledge of MS Office applications word, excel etc
• Sound understanding of international working and business operations of a global consultancy
• Ability to work independently and as a multi-disciplinary team
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
