If so we would like to invite you to join us as part of our Civil and Structural Team. As part of the wider central engineering function we support the global offshore wind business within RWE Offshore at all stages of the project life cycle. We work every day to build a renewable future, we continually push the boundaries and set the standard amongst our peers.
Your future plans
- Lead the key aspects of technical consultancy and advisory within the business for topics such as:
- Metallurgy and welding
- Material selection
- Technology qualification of Suppliers
- Manage the content of the RWE Offshore Wind Technical Employers Requirements for Materials and Welding
- Provide specialist engineering knowledge to review and assess the integrity of our existing wind turbine foundation structures
- Mentor and develop the junior and associate colleagues within the team and across the wider business
- Ensure that all lessons learned from our operating fleet are incorporated into future projects
- Represent RWE as a technical expert on ground-breaking joint industry and research projects
- Work closely across all interfaces with; internal stakeholders, external design houses, certification authorities, and fabrication contractors to produce cost effective and value-added solutions
- Support the development and construction projects for materials selection and materials related topics in foundation fabrication
- Assist Procurement, Quality and HSSE departments with detailed technical expertise
Your profile
- Higher technical education (master’s degree, Ph.D. or equivalent) in Materials Engineering or equivalent practical experience
- International Welding Engineer (IWE) or International Welding Specialist (IWS) or similar
- 8+ years of experience in offshore Materials Engineering – preferably in offshore wind
- Profound experience supporting renewable construction projects
- The drive and motivation to meet time, cost and quality targets
- Demonstrable experience of working effectively in an international business
- Experience with international material standards (including USA and Japan)
- Willingness to travel internationally
- Good communicator and team player, fluent spoken and written English
Desirable skills
- Member of a professional engineering body
