This is an opportunity to work in niche sectors and the projects in these sectors are going to be long term projects that are developed from RIBA Stage 1 or before into a fully detailed design. You will have the security of years' worth of work but with the comfort that you can still work across a variety of sectors delivering projects in less usual sectors.

These sectors include Transport Infrastructure, Defence, Nuclear, Biotechnology, Life Sciences and Custodial. Your priority on these jobs will be to make the complex simple and to find efficient and sustainable solutions often to a demanding brief. These projects have lifespans in excess of 5 years' worth of work.

Everything is done in Revit by dedicated Revit Technicians, there is a separate department for BIM adherence too so you will be left to focus on the engineering and work in partnership with a Revit Technician who will support you on the projects.

Most of the projects are true multi-disciplinary projects and generally they are being built by their contracting arm. The design process is much smoother and collaborative, and it is a system that is tried, tested and it works. You will need to be experienced in all aspects of the lifecycle of the project from feasibility, detailed design through to site monitoring and commissioning.

This opportunity for a Principal Mechanical Engineer is born out of growth within the Manchester office, lots of major projects have been won and have come online too. You will need to value quality and enjoy delivering technically excellent Mechanical designs in the built environment including HVAC and Public Health.

You will need to hold a relevant degree and be chartered or willing to work towards this with a relevant body including CIBSE or IMechE.
