Sellick Partnership are currently recruiting for a Principal Financial Accountant for our Public Sector client.
As assigned by the Head of Financial Reporting and Control, to handle a variety of financial accounting, reconciliation, and reporting duties.
Key responsibilities for the Principal Financial Accountant are;
- Oversee all financial reporting and accounting related to the upkeep of the organisations balance sheets
- To take the lead in successfully completing an audit in areas of assigned responsibility
- To provide members, senior officers, service finance teams, and the organisation professional and technical guidance on a variety of financial accounting and reporting concerns
- Serving as Financial Management's representative on several internal and external boards
- To guarantee the presence of a robust internal control framework for financial concerns within designated areas
- Finding and reporting system flaws and weaknesses, as well as informing important stakeholders of the risk.
The Ideal candidate for the Principal Financial Accountant will have;
- CCAB Qualified Accountant or similar qualification
- Extensive familiarity with accounting rules, regulations, and procedures
- General familiarity with the budgetary procedures and standards of the council
- Understanding the internal financial structure, including its budget, closing procedures, and financial regulations.
