SalaryEventus Legal is seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor to join a well-established succession and tax team for a top tier in the Legal 500 law firm in Oxford. This is a permanent, full-time job position in Oxfordshire where a smart working policy stands. This entails a blended approach of working in your usual office, working from a client’s office, another of the firm's location offices and working from home. Role Responsibilities
The incoming Private Client Solicitor will be required to manage their own caseload and deal with complex files. The team are well supported by dedicated secretaries. Duties for this Private Client Solicitor role will include but not be limited to:
- Handling and preparing a range of Private Client matters including wills, LPAs, Probate, Tax Planning
- Covering advice on estate planning, inheritance tax, capital gains tax and the creation of lifetime trusts
- Preparing deeds of variation, deeds of gifts and deeds of family arrangements
- Obtaining grants of probate, letters of administration and administering estate including foreign domicile, re-sealing of grants and intestate estates
- Providing trust advice focusing on setting up, management and administration regarding the firm’s dedicated trust administration team
Person Specification
Applications are sought from ambitious Private Client Solicitors with a solid background in wills and probate, as well as a strong technical competence and intellectual ability (STEP qualification preferred). The successful Solicitor would run independent caseloads. The firm also is looking for the following skills and experience:
- Committed to rigour around treating all clients fairly
- Strong administration and IT skills
- Organised with effective time management skills
- Strong client-facing skills with a confident and personable approach
- Flexible outlook with an ability to prioritise under pressure
- A proven ability to work as part of a team and provide a role model for others to follow
- To supervise others and delegate effectively
