Our client, based in East London are looking for a Housing Regulation Manager to lead in the Housing Regulation, delivering the council's enforcement and regulatory services with respect to Private Sector Housing. The post will set out the strategy, and drive and manage the service to deliver the aims through management of property licensing and effective regulation and application of the range of legislative powers.
You will be asked to assist with statutory functions relating to housing standards, licencing of housing in multiple occupation (HMO) as well as providing support and/or enforcement in the return of empty private properties back into use; to promote and develop the desired team culture to align with council DRIVE values and behaviours and deal with budget responsibility and accountability for meeting expenditure and revenue targets.
To be successful in this application it is crucial that you are hold a BSc Environmental Health or a relevant Housing qualification and have Proven experience of effectively managing and directing a team responsible for enforcing standards within Private Sector Housing within a Local Authority environment, they also expect expertise of Private Sector Housing and property licensing within the local government framework Including, the enforcement and regulatory functions, of the Housing Act 2004, Housing and Planning Act 2016, Public Health, other landlord and tenant law and the application of all other relevant legal and practical principles.
If successful you will be offered a contract for 3-6 months until the client fills the fixed term post that will be out for advert soon. They are looking to pay £400 per day Umbrella but can increase to £500 for exceptional applicants and they need someone to start ASAP. Hybrid working is available but sone office presence will be required to manage the team.
