Position Summary

Career opportunity available to a self-motivated, high performing candidate with a proven track record in the design and construction of advanced technology manufacturing facility chemical and gas systems – especially semiconductor fabs. This position provides technical expertise and project oversight to Chemical/Gas Engineers and Designers.

Typical Responsibilities

• Provides technical contribution to the following: handling and distribution of: High Purity Solvent/Aqueous Chemicals, Specialty Gases, Slurries, and Bulk Gases.
• Plan, assist, manage and monitor the review of design deliverables produced by the design consultant. Coordinate with multi-discipline teams to establish a design basis, create calculations, and generate process drawings.
• Works with client system owners and other team stakeholders to ensure that systems meet client requirements and performance expectations.
• Provides expertise to project teams from concept through all phases of project delivery including startup and turnover. Provides Engineering Design, Procurement and Construction leadership for chemical and gas system activities. Covers the full delivery cycle.
• Facilitates and occasionally conducts engineering and construction reviews.
• Provides input to Hazard Analysis for Chemicals and Gases.
• Supports management reviews and project proposals and schedules.
• Provides leadership in the assessment of technical issues and contributes experience and expertise in the solution of difficult problems. Provides development and deployment of best practices and lessons learned.

Skills and Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in mechanical or chemical engineering from an accredited university.
• Candidates responding to this posting must currently be eligible to work and remain in the European Union and UK without sponsorship.

Additional Qualifications

• Demonstrated project delivery experience directly relating to and including design, engineering, specification, and construction of semiconductor (or similar high-tech) for at least three medium to large ($100 – 500 million) EPC projects.
• A significant portion of overall project delivery experience focused on design and construction of facility chemical and gas systems.
• Experience in hydraulic design, modelling, and hazard analysis for specialty gas and Bulk chemical delivery systems.
• Substantial experience in EPC and/or operating industry, with multiple years in a leadership role.
• A conceptual understanding of chemical engineering principles and their general application to typical semiconductor chemical and gas systems.
• Extensive experience with major regulations and industry codes and standards affecting standard design, specification, quality, or processes.
• Chartered or Registered PE in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Excellent communication and people development skills. Extensive relevant experience and adaptability to support chemical and gas systems required in other M&T facilities and operations.
