Position Summary

Process Engineer – Water plans and conducts independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of process design, techniques, procedures and criteria for Water and Wastewater treatment applications. Supports the Process Engineer – Lead Water by contributing to development and review of project deliverables.

Typical Responsibilities

• Evaluation of advanced water treatment designs and engineering studies to identify technology readiness and challenges.
• Preparation, review of, and provide feedback on Engineering drawings (P&IDs, GAs, etc.), system descriptions, design criteria, technical specification, calculations, procedures, and guides.
• Preparation of technical proposals for a variety of water treatment projects.
• Perform work that involves conventional design practice but may include complex features such as resolving conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials and/or difficult coordination requirements. Prepares letters to vendors and clients.
• Reviews bid analyses and makes recommendations. Prepares or assists in preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports, or proposals.
• Performs work using Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs) and appropriate 2-D and 3-D computer aided design and computer aided engineering (CAD and CAE) tools.

Skills and Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• Chemical or Mechanical Engineering Degree from an accredited university with relevant experience in design engineering or other relevant types of engineering such as systems startup, field engineering, or plant operation in large industrial plants, utilities, process plants or other engineering/construction firms.
• Technical knowledge of water treatment systems, engineering calculations, and applications of engineering methods.
• Experience in hydraulic design, modelling, surge analysis, design of large diameter pipe & valve for water treatment plants.
• Candidates responding to this posting must currently be eligible to work and remain in the European Union and UK without sponsorship.

Additional Qualifications

• Demonstrate a personal strong commitment to quality, integration, and safety.
• Knowledge of relevant codes and standards pertinent to the Semiconductor and Water Treatment industry.
• Thorough knowledge of discipline engineering techniques, the design of engineered systems and design calculations.
• Understanding of the roles played by other departments on projects including basic construction practices and the economics involved.
• Proactive, supportive, questioning, challenging and result driven. Hard working and motivated with high self-initiative.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, changing priorities and work with ambiguity.
• Promote the creation of a work environment, supported by leadership, which fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.
