Job description

Process Engineer - Hydrogen

In collaboration with a Global Leader in Renewable Energy, an opportunity has arisen for a Process Engineer to join their expanding team. With recent advancements into the hydrogen market, the company is committed to further developing its dedicated team to drive innovation and excellence in green hydrogen projects.

The Process Engineer will play a crucial role as a subject matter expert, providing technical expertise and support across all markets where the company operates in the hydrogen sector. Collaborating closely with hydrogen off-taker clients, EPC contractors, and investors, this role offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in both technical and commercial aspects of green hydrogen project development.

Main Responsibilities of Process Engineer:

  • Undertake high-level design, contract specification, and system safety to ensure projects meet performance, service, and safety requirements.
  • Contribute to the creation and refinement of technical specifications for EPC projects on hydrogen production facilities.
  • Evaluate proposals from suppliers and engage with various stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Process Engineering expertise.
  • Lead and coordinate HAZIDs, HAZOPs, and design risk assessments and management.
  • Ensure system performance meets project requirements.
  • Size and configure equipment, including Electrolysers, Storage, and Compressors.
  • Prepare comprehensive process datasheets.
  • Provide support across project lifecycle, from initial concept to delivery phase, addressing end-user requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical/Biochemical or Process Engineering, or similar qualification.
  • Previous experience working on projects involving the compression and storage of gases.
  • Knowledgeable in Process Engineering safety standards and practices.
  • Competent in producing process risk assessments.
  • Previous experience in equipment specification, procurement, and design.
