Procurement Advisor - Energy from Waste
Salary - £34,473 to £40,556 per annum (plus benefits)
Hours - 37.5 hours per week, 8.30am to 5.00pm
Location Postcode - DN4 5NU
As a Procurement Advisor (Energy from Waste) you will be responsible for assisting the Senior Procurement Advisor in the development and implementation of procurement policy and procedures. You will provide procurement advice across the business, ensuring the health and safety of staff, approved suppliers and contractors, the minimisation of impact to the environment and achieving expectations in terms of service and quality.
This vacancy is a full-time temporary position for approx.12 months, working 5 days per week. However, we will consider requests for job shares to suit your lifestyle (working full days).

What will you be doing?
- Manage the procurement of a variety of commodities, services and projects
- Manage strategic procurement projects and initiatives
- Provide support, advice and training to business managers in respect of all procurement activities
- Integrate, review and maintain the group supplier base, maximising efficiency
- Work closely with the SHEQ team to ensure suppliers comply with group requirements
- Manage supplier relationships in order to achieve maximum efficiency
- Address and resolve procurement problems
- Assist in the development of specifications and identification of suitable suppliers
- Review quotations and negotiate prices with key suppliers
- Assist in the identification of suitable suppliers, PQQ, preparation of specification, contracts and evaluation criteria for all tenders
What we’re looking for
- Experience in procurement and contract management
- Experience of purchasing of commodities, services and capital projects
- Proficient in use of MS Office suite, particularly MS Excel
- CIPS qualification desirable
- Ideally educated to A Level standard
