The Procurement Assistant role
Join our dynamic team as a Procurement Assistant, where your meticulous attention to detail and organisational prowess will play a crucial role in supporting our procurement team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will assist in sourcing suppliers, managing purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery of goods. Your excellent communication skills will be essential in liaising with suppliers. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess a keen eye for cost-saving opportunities, and have a passion for streamlining procurement processes, we invite you to contribute to our success and grow with us in this exciting role.
Main responsibilities of the Procurement Assistant include:
- To source materials and negotiate rates with suppliers.
- To solve problems that may arise on site in a proactive manner.
- Establish excellent working relationships with suppliers, site teams and contracts management.
- To sit in on supplier meetings with the buyer to gain knowledge and experience.
- To gain knowledge of products that are being purchased to aid the site teams.
- Raise and issue purchase orders through COINS.
- Be self-motivated & punctual.
- Manage multiple tasks and have excellent follow up skills both internally and externally.
- To check invoices against Purchase Orders for authorising.
- To track savings made via excel documentation for review each month.
Our ideal Procurement Assistant will have the below skills and experience:
- GCSE Maths & English Grade 4/C
- Driving License desirable
- Excellent attendance and time keeping
- Can do attitude
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Organised and able to time manage
- Team player
- Understanding of Microsoft products and Windows
- Telephone experience
