Jackson Hogg Procurement division are exclusively supporting an organisation in Middlesbrough on the appointment of a Procurement Assistant to join their team on a full time and permanent basis. This role can offer £24,000-26,000 per annum DOE and is based on site.
The working hours are Monday to Thursday 08:30-17:00 and Fridays 08:30-16:30.
Benefits include 23 days holiday + birthday off + bank holidays as well as a quarterly bonus scheme.
As a Procurement Assistant, you will provide support to the management team to ensure a continuous supply of materials.
The Role:
- Assist the Buying team in sourcing, developing and selecting new and existing product ranges.
- Input and raise purchase orders on our system.
- Assist senior management to identify and forecast stock requirements using our warehouse management software & Excel.
- Assist the Procurement manager in supplier meetings
- Build and maintain excellent working relationships with new and existing suppliers
- Maintain product files, accurately inputting new product information
- Items to procure consist of LGSF Coil, Hot Roll Steel, External Sheathing board, and Timber boards alongside ancillaries.
- Logistics/ transport co-ordination
Person Specification:
- To be CIPS qualified would be advantageous but not essential.
- Strong analytical skills: researching, forecasting, and reporting, with a keen eye for detail
- Communication: strong interpersonal skills with the ability to present information, ideas and reports confidently
- Previous experience in a buying/ procurement environment
- Strong IT and administration skills (excel)
- A good working knowledge of Excel
- The ideal candidate will take ownership of the role and be happy to work independently while contributing to a positive team environment, as such this role best suits confident and self-motivated individuals for whom attention to detail and the determination to see tasks through to completion are core competencies.
