This position covers the whole spectrum of procurement and supplier management, including responsibility for developing and managing the purchase process, management of supplier agreements, tracking metrics to reduce expenses, negotiating deals, managing suppliers, and team. Ensure clear requirements, mitigate risks, and collaborate with relevant departments.
Main Duties
- Responsible for demand and shortfall planning, and communications.
- Establish procurement processes.
- Responsible for systems maintenance and reporting.
- Delivery of procurement risk mitigation plans and opportunity management.
- Provide support when the company moves from an MRP to an ERP system.
- Review and process purchase orders for suppliers in relation to Works Orders
- Builds and maintains relationships with suppliers, securing good procurement deals.
- Negotiate pricing agreements with suppliers, leverage demand profiles and act as a “line of defence” against margin erosion.
- Responsible for supply chain management. Creation and negotiation of supplier contracts.
- Evaluates (and regularly appraise) suppliers based on quality, timeliness, and price.
- Schedules deliveries and ensures OTDIF (on time delivery in full).
- Coordinates with fellow managers to monitor inventory and determine supply needs.
- Ensuring stock accuracy on ERP, involvement in stock cycle counts.
- Decrease “stock on shelf” using JIT tools.
- Provide weekly / monthly statistics and reporting
- Work in accordance with the quality system and processes of the company.
- Drive departmental and individual KPIs and Goals & Objectives
Skills and Knowledge
- Degree or similar qualification beneficial.
- Fully qualified to level 6 Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply, or 10+ years procurement experience
- ERP and Microsoft experience.
- Relevant experience gained in a similar industry and role.
- Ability to develop and evaluate procurement and supply chain reports from systems
- Hardworking, positive and a flexible attitude to work.
- Be able to work effectively and efficiently to meet target deadlines.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Great customer service skills.
