Procurement Heads' Industrial team is exclusively working with a major defence contractor om the South Coast. We're looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to apply to join a growing function within the product development and delivery division and oversee a variety of projects within the team.
As Procurement Manager your key responsibilities will be:
- Leading the sourcing and selection of suppliers within an integrated project team ensuring that Company, Project, Commercial and Technical requirements are considered whilst maintaining the rules of fair competition
- Being an integral part of the campaign team for future support
- Ensuring that suitable contracts are negotiated with suppliers, including the flow down as appropriate of all necessary conditions from the customer, which minimise risk, protect the commercial interests of the Company
- Creating and maintaining a robust material cost model and be responsible for the external material budget for the Project and on project mobilisation be responsible for the that material spend and management
- Developing and implementing Project Procurement strategies, ensuring alignment with Company, Procurement, Supply Chain and Project strategy. Ensure that any associated plan is developed, maintained, approved in line with the project life cycle and communicated during the life of the Project
- Developing, maintaining, and implementing a supply chain sustainability plan
Qualifications and experience:
- Major Procurement Management (incl. But not limited to competitive tendering, supplier sourcing and selection, contract and cost negotiation & management, supplier management)
- Cross-functional team working/ supporting engineering projects/ dealing with internal customers.
- Negotiation skills in a complex engineering and commercial environment
- CIPS or proven experience
