Procurement Manager

Reed Procurement are looking for a Procurement Manager of Indirects.

Our client is a large and successful business services organisation which operates through 10 business entities.

Hybrid role – 1 to 2 days a week in Reading

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has ever been involved in implementing category management within a greenfield setting before.

Our client has an anticipated c£25million spend across their Indirects and are keen to hire a Procurement Manager to explore this spend, put a Category Management plan in place and shape the procurement processes.

You will be supported by a large centralised finance team, plenty of spend data and CFO backing whilst putting in place the Indirect spend initiatives.

Role Overview:

As the Procurement Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving cost efficiency, supplier performance, and process excellence. Your primary focus will be on indirect spend categories, ensuring optimal value for all business units and the organisation as a whole. This is a unique chance to build procurement practices from the ground up and make a lasting impact.

Key Responsibilities:

• Category Management: Develop and implement robust category strategies aligned with business objectives. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive supplier negotiations.
• Strategic Sourcing: Lead end-to-end procurement processes, from market analysis to contract execution. Leverage your expertise to secure favourable terms and conditions.
• Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring performance, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement.
• Greenfield Implementation: Establish procurement policies, procedures, and governance frameworks. Shape the procurement function to align with best practices.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with finance, legal, and operations and direct procurement teams to streamline efforts across the organization.
• Performance Metrics: Define KPIs and track performance metrics to measure procurement effectiveness.
