Procurement Manager
Location: Hook (Office Based)
Salary: £45,000
My client who are based in Hook are seeking an experiences Procurement Manager to join their team. In this role, you will oversee the daily actions of the Procurement Team, providing leadership, motivation, encouraging growth of the individual team members and supporting the team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment. To apply for this role you will need 5+ years of experience working as a Procurement Manager within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Leading the development, growth and success of the Procurement team using competencies and agreed smart objectives.
Prepare business cases to enable strategic procurement decisions, working with the Director of Operations
Interprets the sales forecast to ensure stockholding is optimised and replenishment methods identified for the various production methods.
Comprehensive understanding of supply chain risks , manages key suppliers, leading the vulnerability assessments, working with the Supplier Account Managers and submit mitigation plans accordingly
Provide a proactive approach and vision for overseeing the introduction of new suppliers, as required, across product ranges and a reduction the supply base based on strategic decisions to gain leverage.
Accountable for successful supplier performance management using vendor scorecards and supporting the team dealing with key suppliers to provide performance improvements as required.
Identify and develop potential suppliers in support of business growth and operational efficiency objectives. · Take the lead and manage first time projects (NPI) - including quoting and cost benefit assessments.
Deal with escalated issues from the team and other departments, as and when required.
Negotiate supply agreement terms with new and existing suppliers on pricing, stockholding, lead-times and quality.
Submit Weekly and Monthly reports as required to support the business strategy.
Work with the Quality Manager to ensure all processes and procedures are followed and reviewed regularly.
Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience
Degree in Supply chain related field or vocational qualification level 5
A minimum of 5 years experience in a modern manufacturing environment · Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Analytical mind with excellent problem-solving abilities
