Procurement Senior Buyer

Procurement Senior Buyer required by global engineering business. Applicants need a blend of operational and strategic procurement expertise gained within manufacturing or engineering, have MRP/ERP literacy and accustomed to a fast-paced environment.

The Procurement Senior Buyer will be responsible for managing a suite of suppliers associated with mechanical manufacturing processes and services. A hands-on procurement role, the Procurement Senior Buyer will drive vendors against OTD/OTIF while contributing to cost saving targets and group procurement objectives.

Specific duties of the Procurement Senior Buyer include:

• Drive supplier performance and development in relation to OTIF/OTD
• Ensure availability of materials and services
• Drive rationalisation of suppliers and materials to streamline the supply chain and capitalise on economies
• Spot negotiations
• Work with Quality in regards to NCR and supplier quality issues
• Maintain procurement department reports and update performance and savings tracker
• Utilise procurement department data to drive procurement decisions

Procurement Senior Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Procurement experience at Buyer, Senior Buyer or Strategic Buyer level
• Previous exposure to a manufacturing, engineering or similar procurement environment
• MRP/ERP literate
• Comfortable working in a hybrid model - hybrid options available after probation
• Commercial acumen
• Self-motivated and pro-active.
