Flexible hybrid working available - to be considered for this position you must be within a commutable distance to either office as you will be required to attend the office.
Salary banding for this role is between £66,400 to £83,000 plus benefits.

Applications close 4th February and interviews will be held shortly after.

The Role
As a Product Manager, you’ll be responsible for driving and implementing the product vision and strategy for products and solutions that meet customer, commercial and operational outcomes over the product-market lifecycle. To do this, you’ll collaborate with a wide range of people to identify and define customer and stakeholder needs, understand the context, and develop the Vision, Roadmap, and Features required to meet these needs. Product Managers will support and provide direction to Product Owners across the Agile Release Trains (ARTs) to ensure the delivery of agreed outcomes.
These Product Manager roles will lead our Core Platforms teams. These teams are responsible for the planning and delivery of the technical platforms which support the Banking, Head Office and Smarter Decisioning (data and MI) customers and stakeholders. These are new positions within the team so provide an opportunity for the successful candidates to shape the teams’ ethos and priorities.

What you’ll bring
Essential Criteria
  • Agility: Promote an agile atmosphere within teams and groups by emphasising nimble action in service of constant customer focus.
  • Leadership and Direction: Identify and communicate the actions needed to implement the roadmap to the wider organisation, explain the relationship to the broader organisation’s purpose, steer and guide the ART to achieve the right outcomes.
  • Product and Solution Development: Responsible for managing the definition, development and delivery of the roadmap, ensuring the solutions are aligned with customer requirements, objectives of the Value Stream and Bank strategy.
  • Product/Service Development: Ensure the feature team is creating feasible and sustainable solutions by developing clear models which deliver agreed outcomes.
  • Recommendations: Approve and defend a set of Program Increment (PI) plans as a key decision maker in the PI planning process balancing potentially competing priorities
  • Product or solution Management: Take responsibility for all aspects of a life cycle of a group of products or a solution and speak to the technical competence of the product or solution now and into the near future. Stay abreast of trends in the marketplace to ensure the product's competitive position.
  • Agile Release Planning: Work with the release train engineer to define releases as they are produced to ensure timely updates and to deliver the planned benefits as early as possible.
  • Business Case: Develop and manage the lean business case for epics impacting the ART.
  • Performance Management: Manage and report on performance within area of responsibility; set appropriate priorities for direct reports and hold them accountable for achieving these; take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of annual business objectives.

Desirable Skills
  • Benefit Realisation: evaluate and track business benefits (including customer, commercial and operational outcomes) and identify actions needed to maximise these.
  • Agile Backlog Management: Ensure the teams are building and prioritising backlogs which balance commercial, customer and technical needs and are informed by robust feedback loops. Review the backlog of work where necessary and reprioritise the work and the deployment of resources.
  • Needs Assessment: Uncover emerging issues or needs, identifying potential causes, barriers, and key stakeholders as well as related issues.
  • Planning: Participate in a quarterly planning mission setting and management reviews.
You’ll be expected to demonstrate these skills in your day to day running of your teams, working with senior stakeholders to both deliver and demonstrate success. You’ll also be someone who contributes towards wider team and role development, raising the standards for your teams and the Product community.
Tesco Bank uses an Agile Way of Working aligned to the SAFe methodology. You’ll be expected to have worked in an Agile organisation previously and knowledge of SAFe is not essential.
