Product Owner

We are looking to onboard a Product Owner to join a Non-Departmental Government Body to help delivery a significant data transformation programme with the main aim to modernise the use and management of all data and in turn help inform decision making.
You will be responsible for the delivery of a new defined product, working closely with business stakeholders to formalise the vision for the product and to help represent the interest of the business closely.
The role will involve:
* Working collaboratively to define a vision for the product which is aligned to the strategic and regulatory priorities.
* Act as an advocate of the strategic and regulatory priorities throughout the product development cycle.
* Drive stakeholder engagement to minimise inconsistencies and conflict in the overall product vision, including identifying and resolving issues that might hinder the development timeline.
* Make robust and effective decisions about the data product.
* Ensure that the principles of Minimum Viable Product (MVP) are clearly understood and applied, with product goals developed and explicitly communicated in alignment with these principles.
* Ensure the quality and appropriate testing of the data product, by ensuring that user stories are defined appropriately to support development work, setting out clear acceptance criteria for each user story, and coordinating appropriate user acceptance testing to ensure that the product meets the organisation's requirements.
The right candidate will need:
* Proven experience as a Product Owner, ideally working on data products
* Demonstrable knowledge of agile ways of work and methodologies
* Both external and internal stakeholder management
* Ability to manage complex projects and ensure delivery of product lifecycle stages
* Ensuring a user-centred design is being followed
The role will be:
* Inside IR35 (rate dependent on experience)
* Initially 6 months with the view to extend
* Hybrid (on-site on an as and when needs basis)
