We have an exciting opportunity for a Production Assistant to join our busy studio in Southeast London. This role would be suitable for painter & decorators, sign painters, scenic painters, prop & set designers who have experience painting in a professional environment.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Preparing canvases- stretching, taping, and priming.
- Mixing paint and prepping materials.
- Keeping the studio clean and tidy.
- Completing stock takes and ensuring that stock levels are sufficient.
- Looking after and maintaining tools and any work-related equipment.
- Moving and lifting artwork and materials under supervision.
- Research for future projects as instructed by the Studio Manager.
- Thinking commercially at all times.
- Working to tight deadlines and being able to produce work at levels of quality needed.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Colour theory and painting skills, including knowledge of painting techniques and materials.
- Art handling/packing and hanging experience.
- Mac literate.
- Good level of fitness.
- Strong time management skills.
IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- Will take pride in whatever task is required and take an interest and responsibility in the overall process.
- Will be friendly and industrious with good interpersonal skills.
- Having an enthusiastic approach to the role is key, candidates should be committed to working as part of a successful artist’s studio.
- Will take a flexible approach to work, due to the variety of projects the selected candidate will be working on.

- Employees will be required to undertake such duties as may reasonably be expected of the post and are required to be professional, co-operative, and flexible in line with the requirements of Science Ltd.
- The working day is from 9 am to 5 pm, 5 days a week (Monday to Friday)
