Are you a skilled and experienced engineer with a passion for ensuring efficient production processes? Adecco are currently seeking a Production Engineer to join our prestigious client. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in problem-solving manufacturing and production issues, identifying continuous improvement opportunities, and ensuring timely completion of engineering orders.
Salary: £38K - £40K
Main Responsibilities:
- Assist operators in problem-solving manufacturing/production issues on all commissioned plant and equipment.
- Utilise data sources to identify continuous improvement opportunities in manufacturing/production processes.
- Ensure the timely completion of New Engineering Orders (NEO's) and Engineering Change Orders (ECO's).
- Review and update, where necessary, production supporting documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Risk Assessments, Weld Procedure Specifications (WPSs), operator training documentation, and production work instructions.
- Design, develop, and manufacture tooling and jigs to aid efficient production in all processes.
- Constantly update Routings, Product Structures, Set/Run times, and unit lengths, as required.
- Develop flat patterns and bent parts using Solidworks for ease of manufacturing.
- Conduct pre high volume production development work of new products to confirm design and ensure correct tooling is available and recorded.
- Manufacture sheet metal components using press brake and laser, choosing appropriate tooling for different material types and thicknesses.
- Collaborate with component designers to find bending and welding solutions for prototype parts.
- Perform offline programming
- Work with the Technical department to simplify manufacturing processes wherever possible.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in a similar Production Engineering role.
- Proficiency in problem-solving manufacturing and production issues.
- Strong analytical and data analysis skills.
- Knowledge of various engineering tools and software, such as Solidworks, Tru-tops Boost, and AutoCAD.
- Experience in sheet metal manufacturing and press brake/laser operation.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, routings, and product structures.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
