Are you an experienced Production Engineer looking for a new opportunity in the Engineering industry?
Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is seeking a skilled Production Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.
Responsibilities:
- MUST have experience setting and operating laser and press brakes.
- Utilise CAD experience, preferably with Solidworks, for designing and developing tooling and jigs.
- Assist operators in problem-solving manufacturing and production issues.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities in manufacturing and production processes using data sources.
- Ensure timely completion of New Engineering Orders (NEO's) and Engineering Change Orders (ECO's).
- Review and update production supporting documentation, including SOPs, Risk Assessments, WPSs, operator training documentation, and production work instructions.
- Constantly update Routings, Product Structures, Set/Run times, and unit lengths.
- Develop flat patterns and bent parts for ease of manufacturing.
- Collaborate with component designers to find bending and welding solutions for prototype parts.
- Manufacture sheet metal components using press brake and laser, choosing appropriate tooling for material type and thickness.
- Complete pre high-volume production development work for new products to confirm design and ensure availability of correct tooling.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Production Engineer in the manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in setting and operating laser and press brakes.
- Strong CAD experience, ideally with 3D and preferably Solidworks.
- Ability to assist operators in problem-solving manufacturing and production issues.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
- Knowledge of New Engineering Orders (NEO's) and Engineering Change Orders (ECO's) processes.
- Familiarity with manufacturing documentation, such as SOPs, Risk Assessments, and production work instructions.
- Understanding of Routings, Product Structures, Set/Run times, and unit lengths.
- Solidworks experience for flat pattern and bent part development.
- Ability to collaborate with component designers for prototype part solutions.
- Experience in manufacturing sheet metal components using press brake and laser.
